The catchweight competition started with a straight points competition, with Lincoln topping the group without dropping any ends. The battle for second place in the group was close, especially between York (who were back on the circuit after a three year absence) and Felton Eccles who went 1-1 with each other in the group. At the end of the competition, both clubs finished on level points, level on the number of matches won and level on cautions, so it came down to the toss of the coin to decide which team would finish as runners up in the group and it was Felton who won the toss. Lincoln finished as overall winners, with Felton runners up.

The ladies 520kg competition was the first ladies weight with a straight group of 6. Bedford Ladies finished as the group winners without dropping an end, with some close pulling between the other teams with Melton Ladies and Army Ladies having a good 1-1 draw in their first match. Upper Eden Ladies finished as worthy runners up.
