8 clubs attended the East of England Open Championships hosted by TOWA Area 5 and held at Kempston Hammer Sports Club in Bedford, which was very good considering it was Easter Sunday. We were very lucky with the weather. The competition was finished by 5pm, which was accomplished by the skills of Mick Grimston as Chief Judge.

Ladies 560kg - Winners – Bedford Ladies - runners up - Melton Mowbray

Men Catchweight – winners – Lincoln - runners up - Sandhurst

Men 600kg - Winners – Lincoln - runners up - Oxney Vines Cross

Men 680kg - Winners – Lincoln - runners up - Felton Eccles

Ladies 520kg - Winners - Melton Mowbray - runners up – Bedford Ladies

Men 640kg - Winners - Lincoln A - runners up - Sandhurst A

Ladies 540kg - Winners – Bedford Ladies - runners up - Melton Mowbray
