2024 British and Irish Outdoor Tug of War Championships - 10 -11 August 2024
The Tug of War Association will be hosting the 2024 British and Irish Outdoor Tug of War Championships on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August with the weigh in taking place on Friday 9 August.
The event will be held at Play Close Park, Park Ln, Melton Mowbray LE13 0PW
As per recent British and Irish Championships, there will be a £20 accreditation fee payable by all pullers / coaches excluding junior pullers
Weigh In
The weigh in will be held on Friday 9th August between 15-30 & 19-30 hours. Weigh in will be on individual Scales. Test Scales will be available. Photographic I.D. will be required at the weigh in.

The weigh will be in the Cattle Market complex and there is plenty of car parking available, use Gate 8. Use Post Code LE13 0NP to find, (next to the Fire Station).
Teams that are only attending the Sunday Open Competition can weigh in on Saturday early evening or Sunday Morning, times to be confirmed. (Saturday early evening will be on Individual Scales, Sunday morning would be on team scales).

Teams Briefing
This will take place at 20.00hrs in the Cattle Market.
B&I Commission Meeting
This will take place at 20.30hrs in the Cattle Market.
Saturday 10th August
Stamping of teams between 07-00hrs and 08-00hrs at Play Close, Melton Mowbray.
Official opening and parade of teams - 09.00.hrs pulling will commence 09.30hrs.

The presentation of medals will take place at the Championship Dinner, which will be held in the Cattle Market function room on the Saturday night. There is plenty of car parking available at the Cattle Market. Open at 19-00hrs onwards for sit down at 20-00hrs.
Championship Dinner Menu
Starter: Duck Liver Parfait with Rocket Salad, Caramelised Onion Relish & Toasts
(Vegetarian Alternative: Caramelised Onion Tarte Tatin with rocket, tomato & mozzarella salad)
Main Course: Roast 28 Day Aged Sirloin Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, Roast Potatoes, Horseradish Sauce & Gravy with Honey Glazed Carrots & Parsnips, Tender stem Broccoli & Braised Red Cabbage.
(Vegetarian Alternative: Portobello Mushroom stuffed with spinach, blue cheese & leeks wrapped in puff pastry with crispy celeriac, potato terrine & blue cheese sauce)
Dessert: Homemade Chocolate Brownie with Honeycomb ice cream
The meal will be £35 per head Please advise of any dietary requirements when ordering.
The function room can seat 300 people and tickets will be issued on a first ordered first served basis.
