FWA Training League 2024 - Week 2 Results 17/03/2024

This weekend saw round 2 of the FWA Training League event take place which was hosted by St Enoder Tug of War Club.

Once again, the weather gods were with us in Cornwall the sun came out and like last week some very competitive pulling took place. 5 men’s and 4 ladies’ teams attended. Sandhurst, Anstey, Haldon, Honiton and St Enoder were the clubs which took part.

The event started with the men’s 600kg run alongside the ladies 580kg. Anstey proved very strong in the mens 600kg weight with 6 teams entering and finishing top followed by Sandhurst A then Honiton, St Enoder, Sandhurst B and finally Haldon.

In the ladies 580kg, 4 teams entered. St Enoder were the victors with Anstey the runner up then Sandhurst and finally Haldon finishing in fourth place.

The men’s 680kg was run by itself with Anstey gaining the spoils for their second win of the day, with Honiton finishing as the runner up then Sandhurst and Haldon equal on points. So being a training league we had a pull off to decide the points position for third place, with Sandhurst coming out on top.

The next weights were the men’s 640k with the ladies 600k. Sandhurst A were the winners of the 640kg in a group of 4 teams with Anstey the runner up followed by Sandhurst B then Honiton.

And again, St Enoder won the ladies 600kg, with Sandhurst the runner up and then Anstey finishing in third place.

The final weight of the day was the mixed competition where 6 teams entered. The winners where Anstey A, with St Enoder runner, followed by Sandhurst, Haldon, Honiton and finally Anstey B
