Midland Area Open Championships Results 05/05/2024 -
On Sunday 5 May the Midland Area Open Championships took place near Market Drayton, Shropshire, kindly hosted with the support of Diesel Power TOWC. The following clubs took part:
Men – Lincoln, Felton Eccles, Anstey, Madoch Vale, Diesel Power, Upper Eden, Bosley, Bedfordshire, Army. Bedford Ladies also took part in the mens 600kg competition.
Ladies/Junior – Melton Mowbray, Upper Eden, Bedfordshire, Bedford Ladies, Army Ladies
Despite a few teams being down on numbers with it being the bank holiday weekend, there was still a lot of competitive tug of war. The final results were as follows:
Men catchweight – winners – Lincoln – runners up – Anstey
Men 600kg – winners – Upper Eden – runners up – Anstey
Men 680kg – winners – Lincoln – runners up – Madoch Vale
Men 640 – winners – Upper Eden – runners up – Felton Eccles
Mixed 580 – winners – Lincoln – runners up – Bedford
Ladies 520, 540, 560 – winners – Bedford Ladies
