The annual tug of war competition at the 2019 Devon County Show took place with 7 teams attending, which was slightly down on previous years but nevertheless we had some very good pulling.

All teams pulled as one group with the 2 ladies teams going on to the ladies final and the 2 highest placed men’s teams making the men’s final. The league placing finished up as Anstey the winners with Honiton second, then followed by Launceston, Marshwood , Helston, Haldon ladies, and finally Marshwood Ladies. The men’s final was between Anstey and Honiton with Anstey winning in 2 straight ends. The ladies final was contested between Haldon and Marshwood with Haldon winning by the same score.

It was another good day showcasing our sport in front of a big crowd at a popular country show. The next tug of war competition at a show event takes place at Northumberland Show on Monday 27 May.
