Felton Eccles Annual Open Competition 2019 Results
A busy weekend of tug of war culminated with the annual Felton Eccles Tug of War Club open competition, which is always a well organised event. In addition to a number of English clubs, we had mens and ladies teams from Cupids Hill, Hermon and Llanboidy cross the border from Wales to take part in the competition.
The day started with the men’s 640kg run alongside the ladies and junior 560kg competition.
The men 640kg event was won by Oxney Vines Cross with Lincoln finishing as the runners up. The ladies and junior competition was won by Witney with Haldon finishing as runners up.
Again another double header of competitions saw the ladies and junior 520kg competition run alongside the men’s 720kg competition.
This time Haldon ladies won the aldies and junior 520kg event with Oxney Vines Cross ladies taking the silver. Lincoln claimed first place in the mens 720kg competition with the host club Felton Eccles taking the runner up spot.
The third weight of the day saw the mens 600kg competition take place, with this competition being won by Oxney Vines Cross with Lincoln finishing as the runners up in the final.
The final mens weight of the day followed at 680kg. Lincoln won their second gold medal of the day, defeating Oxney Vines Cross in the final.
The final weight of the day saw the mixed 580kg competition take place with 7 teams entered. Oxney Vines Cross entered A and B teams into this competition and made a clean sweep with both teams reaching the final with Oxney B winning the final against their team mates in the A team by 2 ends to 0.
